AuSome GrowSome CIC is currently being set up as a hydroponics-based centre to grow Greens and provide training opportunities for marginalised individuals. It aims to address both business and social issues through 1) sustainable cultivation of green produce through hydroponics all year round and 2) provide training and employment opportunities to young adults on the autism spectrum and associated difficulties.

AuSome GrowSome will grow green produce in vertical farms

The Centre will provide a source of locally cultivable greens, fruit and vegetables grown hydroponically all year round using controlled condition. We hope that the availability of local produce will be a selling point for local retailers and distributors. Currently majority of fruit and vegetables are imported from the European countries and we hope help to reduce “food miles” while promoting awareness, training and employment in food cultivation.

We will start by growing salads, microgreens, herbs and will develop technology to expand this based on our consumer needs.

Our vertical farms

Provide all year-round cultivation, not dependent on weather conditions

On an average uses 75-90% less water

Controlled regulated environment provides 90% crop harvest

Fresh local produce reduces the need to import

Reduces carbon footprint by reducing transport costs.

Vertical farms provide space saving urban or rural location

AuSome GrowSome will provide training and employment opportunities for marginalised individuals

At AuSome GrowSome CIC we are dedicated to engaging the youth on the entire Autism Spectrum and learning differences. We will develop accredited and non-accredited training programmes in hydroponic cultivation, tailored to all abilities. We believe that ‘everybody has the capacity to learn and the teacher/trainer can enable this by adapting the teaching methods and environment to suit the learners’ need’.

We hope that the availability of local produce will be a selling point for local retailers and distributors. while promoting awareness, training and employment in food cultivation using the hydroponic technology.
